The USC LSA is committed to informing its membership and fellow students about issues that arise at the intersection between Indigenous people and Australia’s legal system, and reconciliation more broadly. The Breakfast will recognise the contribution of Indigenous people to the legal profession and discuss reconciliation within the profession.
The keynote speakers at the Breakfast include the Honourable Justice Anthe I Philippides (Queensland Court of Appeal), Shane Duffy (CEO, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Legal Service) and Linda Ryle (President, Indigenous Lawyers Association of Queensland Inc.).
Local elder, Aunty Beverly Hand, will welcome us to Country.
The Breakfast will be held on 23 May 2017 at the Alexandra Headland Surf Life Saving Club. Doors will open at 9am, with the breakfast being held from 9.30am-11.30am.
Tickets will be available from 9am 28 April 2017 and will close at 5pm 15 May 2017. Tickets are $30 for USC LSA Members and $45 for Non-Members.
